At Essendon, French is taught through the engaging and progressive Kapow curriculum. Our aim is to develop pupils who are confident, curious and enthusiastic language learners. Children build vocabulary, practise pronunciation and learn simple grammar through songs, stories, speaking activities and interactive lessons.
Learning is carefully sequenced so pupils gain skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing, while also developing an appreciation for French‑speaking cultures. By the end of primary school, pupils are equipped with strong foundations for further language learning in Key Stage 3.
