A very warm welcome to Hertfordshire's best kept secret: Essendon C of E Primary School.

We are delighted to welcome you to our website and offer a glimpse into life at Essendon School. We are the hidden gem within our local community with the most fantastic site and a historical building filled with great people. Our expansive outdoor areas, including our very own forest, promote positive, creative and resourceful outdoor learning and play.

With high expectations, big ambitions and a fantastic team of people working in school - supportive governors, parents in partnership and, of course, our greatest asset of all, the children - we have everything we need to achieve and ensure all pupils fulfil their potential and realise our vision of 'encouraging everyone's light to shine'. As a small and inclusive church school, the spiritual support and nurture that we can offer all of our pupils is first class.

We are always ‘Going for Gold’; something that is celebrated every week in our special Going for Gold assembly on a Friday. This is, for many, the highlight of the week and is always a great reminder of the talent, energy and effort that the pupils possess. Like a precious gem, we believe that everybody shines at something, in different ways. 

We are very proud to be such an integral part of our local community and church. We have great ambition to do more within the local area and continue to build and develop our reputation as the school of choice. We are in such a fortunate and unique position to not only be a school for pupils whilst they are educated here, but to be a school for life within our community.
