20 children from Years 3-6 accompanied Stanley, Miss Hodgson and Miss Raw to Wodson Park in Ware to take part in the Rural Schools District Athletics event, organised by the Hertford and Ware School Sports Partnership. The children competed in a wide range of individual events, including the standing long jump, shot and javelin and showed great perseverance and determination. Motivation was demonstrated in the track events, with the children cheering on each other and competitors. The relay races were greatly anticipated and the children's practise was evident with smooth baton transitions.

The results are as follows:

Year 3 and 4: 4th place

Year 5 and 6: 1st place

Overall winners for the rural schools: Essendon!
